Jewellery Care Guide

Sterling Silver: Gently polish with a soft jewellery cloth to maintain shine. Silver Care Guide →

Solid Gold (9ct, 14ct, 18ct): Solid gold will not tarnish or peel, but it can gather oils and dust. Soak in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, then gently scrub with a soft toothbrush to restore its brilliance.

18ct Gold Plate: Avoid water, perfumes, and lotions to preserve the gold layer. Gold Plate Care Guide →

Bronze: Over time, bronze develops a unique vintage patina. Polish to restore brightness or leave to age naturally. Bronze Care Guide →

Gemstones: Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners.

Father’s Day Gift: Weekday Lost Wax Jewellery Workshop

Mt Eden, Auckland | Tuesday, 8 September 2026 | 6pm–9pm

Price is per person | Maximum two attendees per workshop
Beginner friendly

Give him a Father’s Day experience that puts the tools in his hands. In this three-hour weekday lost wax jewellery workshop, he can carve a ring or pendant from jeweller’s wax, guided step by step in my Mt Eden studio.

Held on the Tuesday after Father’s Day, this session is a good option for someone who prefers a quieter weekday workshop. No previous experience is needed, and the first 5 grams of sterling silver or bronze are included.

Book one place for him to attend on his own, or purchase two places to come together as a father and adult child, partners or friends. With a maximum of two attendees, there is plenty of individual guidance and time to explore the design properly.

His finished wax piece will be professionally cast and hand-finished after the workshop, creating a piece of jewellery shaped by his own hands.

A Father’s Day Gift He Can Take Part In

This weekday workshop suits a father who enjoys working with his hands, learning how things are made or wearing jewellery with a story behind it.

Rather than handing him another object, you are giving him time at the bench to explore an idea and make something that is entirely his.

It can be booked as:

  • A Father’s Day gift for him to attend on his own
  • A shared workshop for a father and adult child
  • An experience for partners or friends
  • A chance to create a personal ring or another wearable piece

Why This Workshop Is Different

  • Held on the Tuesday after Father’s Day in Auckland
  • Maximum of two attendees
  • Suitable for complete beginners
  • Traditional lost wax techniques
  • Personal guidance throughout the session
  • A real studio environment rather than a kit-based class
  • A finished piece shaped by the attendee’s own hands

What He'll Make

He can create:

  • A ring
  • A small pendant

He'll use traditional wax-carving or wax build-up techniques to develop the design. Some pieces remain simple and understated, while others become more sculptural as the session unfolds.

Made during a workshop that combined wax build-up and carving.

The finished piece will be:

  • Professionally cast in sterling silver or bronze
  • Hand-finished in my Mt Eden studio
  • Ready for collection or courier within 2–3 weeks

This workshop is about texture, form and personal expression rather than following a kit. No two finished pieces are exactly alike.
