The natural oval bloodstone is deep green with a subtle but generous spread of red markings, most concentrated across the lower half. Handmade in my Mt Eden workshop, the exact ring pictured is the one you will receive.

Bloodstone is the traditional birthstone for March—a dark-green chalcedony marked by natural red iron oxide inclusions. Used in signet rings since antiquity, it has long been associated with strength, courage and protection.

Each bloodstone is selected individually for its colour and markings. On this stone, the red flecks sit mainly across the lower half of the oval, creating a quieter pattern that becomes more noticeable as the light moves across it.

The smooth cabochon contrasts with the organic, deliberately irregular silver band, giving the ring weight and character without feeling overly polished.
