Paper Collage Wax Workshop — Make Your Own Bronze Pin

Make a piece of jewellery that starts as your own paper collage and becomes a one-of-a-kind bronze pin. In this three-hour Paper Collage Wax Workshop in my Mt Eden studio, you’ll design and cut your idea from paper and card, create the wax version ready for professional bronze casting, and receive your finished pin approximately two weeks after the workshop. No previous jewellery-making experience is needed.

In this three-hour workshop, you’ll design and build your own small pin using layers of paper and card to create a collage master. We’ll then use silicone moulding material to capture your design before transferring it into wax, ready for casting in bronze after the workshop.

It’s a playful way to explore jewellery making without needing traditional wax-carving skills. Shapes, lines, cut paper and surface marks can all become part of the finished piece — so your pin can be graphic, textured, botanical, abstract or entirely your own.

No previous jewellery-making experience is needed.

What You’ll Make

You’ll create your own original bronze pin design using paper collage.

During the workshop you will:

• develop and cut your paper and card design
• create a mould of your chosen piece
• produce the wax version ready for casting
• learn how a flat paper collage can be translated into metal

After the workshop, I’ll arrange for your piece to be professionally cast in bronze, then finish it and attach the pin fitting for you.

Your completed pin will be ready for collection or courier approximately two weeks after the workshop.

What to Wear & Bring

Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty and flat, closed-toe shoes.

If you wear glasses, bring them — there is quite a bit of cutting and small-detail work involved.

You’re also very welcome to bring sketches, photographs, shapes or other ideas you might like to work from, although you don’t need to arrive with a finished design.

Getting Your Finished Pin

Once the workshop is finished, I’ll take care of the casting, clean-up and final assembly.

Your bronze pin will normally be ready within two weeks.

You can collect it from the Mt Eden studio, or I can courier it to you within New Zealand for an additional charge.

Cancellation Policy

Because these are very small classes, notice matters.

• 7+ days’ notice: full credit transferable to another workshop
• Less than 7 days: you’re welcome to gift your place to someone else, or get in touch and I’ll see what I can do
• Workshop bookings are non-refundable
• If I need to cancel or postpone the class, you’ll be offered a full refund or transfer to another date

Paper collage gives you permission to play first and worry about the metal later.

Your finished pin starts as a few pieces of card on the bench and ends up as a small piece of bronze jewellery that is completely your own.

The rules? Not many.

Where We’ll Be

The workshop is held in my home-based jewellery studio in Mt Eden, Auckland. You’ll have your own workspace and access to all the materials and tools you’ll need.
